Displacement...

Displacement...

Last week during San Diego's scorching heat wave, my oldest daughter turned on our AC while we away from the house. When we returned the smell of musty stale mold was strong I had to leave our house immediately after opening all our windows and operating as many fans as we could to air out our house.

By the evening the smell still lingered and now my 10 month old was wheezing and coughing at night. I knew it was not a simple cold. By following morning, I too was feeling very ill. I immediately called the owner of our Condo and reported the problem. They were so amazing! The responded immediately and made sure the problem was properly taken care of for our safety. At one point I was hospitalized for 48 hours due to a sever bacterial infection in my lungs caused by the mold.  I had spiked a 104.1 temp. Scary.

We were displaced from our home to a local hotel, which we are still sleeping in. There are 4 of us in the cramped space that we now call "home." Let me tell you, nothing will bring our your flaws and the things God wants to change in you like sharing a small space with those who are close to you.

I have seen a bit of a temper in myself. My daughter is very impatient, and my friend has recognized her slight addition to social media. We all have flaws here that Jesus wants us to see, so that we can truly repent of them, and allow him to transform our truly wicked hearts. God is always working to purify the impurities out of us.  Love is a lot harder than we realize. Love is such a "selfless" action, in a society that screams at every street corning that it's all about Self.

In the end, we have made the best of our uncomfortable situation, and spent the weekend having fun with each other, no matter how hard the effort was to fight for our own "space" and what we believed to our "rights."  I wouldn't trade this experience nor will I complain about it. I now how to pray for myself, and for my lovies.

So I will have joy in all circumstances!

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
